WATCH YOUR STEP

"Above all else, guard your heart. . .keep your foot from evil."
-- King Solomon (Proverbs 4:23,27, NIV)

I have read that the African impala can jump over ten feet
high and cover a distance of thirty feet. So why is it that
they can be kept in a zoo behind a wall that is only three
feet high? It's because this magnificent animal will not
jump if it can't see where it's feet are going to fall. And
because it can't see beyond the wall, it won't jump!
Smart animal.

God's advice to us is the same, "Above all else, guard
your heart; for it is the  wellspring of life. Put away
perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from
your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your
gaze directly before you. Make level paths for your
feet and take only ways that are firm. Do not swerve
to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil"
(Proverbs 4:23-27, NIV).

"Suggested prayer: "Dear God, thank you again for
your word for today. Help me to watch where I walk
and not stray from the path where you would lead and
have me go. Gratefully in Jesus' name. Amen."
